Sumit has a technology and legal background with Master's degrees in Science (MSc), Law (LLM), and Business Administration (MBA).

Sumit holds a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, and is one of the earliest registered Patent Agents with the Indian Patent Office (IN/PA-611).

Sumit is also a registered Trade Mark Agent and certified Legal Specialist in Open Source Licensing. He is also qualified to file and prosecute Design and Copyright applications at the Indian IP Office.
